Victory Taekwondo Athlete Have Gold
Medal Sweep At 2007 California Invitational!
Palmdale, CA October 9th, 2007 – Olivia Bryant (10), of Palmdale's Victory Taekwondo Competition Team captured the gold medal when they traveled to Santa Barbara to compete in the 2007 California Invitational.
Bryant was first up for the day, competing in the 10 -11 Year Old Black Belt Olympic Sparring division. The first round began with Bryant throwing a flurry of hard kicks to the body ending with a jarring back kick. Her opponent managed to throw one counter before being barraged by a second flurry of body jarring kicks, overwhelming her opponent, causing the referee to stop the contest just 35 seconds into the first round.
So when will that next experience be? Victory Taekwondo will be hosting "The Smackdown" on November 10. The Smackdown is an invitation only event being held at Victory Taekwondo Center where dozens of fighters will be given an opportunity to fight as many fights as they can against anyone present in order to gain valuable ring experience.

Joseph Phalen, outscored his opponents with his smashing forty-five and jumping turning sidekicks, he breezed through out his fight and won the gold medal. Joseph is only six years old. Ma-an Dator, only six years old fought really hard against her taller opponent but lost in the semi-final round 14-10 and settled for the bronze both in sparring and forms. Olivia Bryant won the gold in forms and bronze in sparring. She won her first match 6-3 in the elimination round but lost by a point in a controversial match in the quarterfinals. Christopher Lorenzana fought his hardest to a much more superior opponent in the quarterfinal round and settled for the bronze medal. Just like Roseary, Joseph Rangel gave his best but lost by a point in the final match and settled for silver as well. The star of the show is Joe’s dad, Bob Phalen.
